Trellis is the new preppy pattern of 2016 and draws its inspiration from the garden structure it is named after. Originally made famous by Elsie de Wolf, an American actress and one of those highfalutin society girls who brought the profession of interior design to light. This pattern has recently seen a resurgence through famous designer Kelly Wearstler and her acclaimed Imperial Trellis pattern.
Now alive through a multitude of variations, the interlocking Trellis pattern has been splashed across cushions, pillows, rugs, focal chairs and even walls. My favorite picks to incorporate this signature style are as follows and note I gravitate toward a softer color contrast:
