As I say, the bathroom is often the most underrated area of your space. The room where you are trapped for a good portion of your life but oftentimes lacks luster and inspiration. In basic terms, a place where you wish there was cool shit to look at aside from your own…too much too soon?
Fear no more readers, let us explore some glorious backdrops packed with personality. And remember, the bathroom is the ideal room to take chances.

Yes, bathrooms can be romantic and sexy chic. This damask black and gold tile is incredibly unique especially when pulled in through the copper, gold and metallic hued penny-looking shower tiles.

Radical and retro-inspired. Check out these waterfall sconces from Nova Lighting.
Check out this beautiful mosaic pattern which is ideal above the copper tub.

I have to admit, I am a fanatic about black and gold, maybe it seems gaudy but I don’t care. Check out the effect and let this black and gold mosaic tile convert you!

This is one of my favorites: the scalloped floor tile (called Carrara floor tile), the wall panel, the vanity which matches, last but not least, the wallpaper (Tamaki Wallcovering French Grey).

Another sexy chic bathroom that teaches us to embrace rather than fear our ceilings (finished with Flavor Paper). The ceiling nods to the red, mosaic shower and it’s all pulled together with the Clarence House Flowering Quince Wallpaper.

Is this lovely wall adorned with tile or wallpaper? Neither, this funky look was pulled together with hand cut, custom glass. Between the curling, glass sink, ornate mirror, red vanity and scones, I can’t even deduce my favorite aspect.

This highlights the importance of a feature wall and you can see the impact. This tile is from HAKATAI, the Egyptian Red Blend from the Aventurine Standard Blend series and the mirror is the Golden Greek Key from Horchow. If sold out, Z Gallerie’s Pierre Mirror is similar.

This colorful, mosaic wall is a literal work of art and packed with personality. Decorating bravery at its finest.

Feeling rustic? Use some weathered wood (DIY if you are feeling crazy) as your bathroom backdrop and make sure to include many earthly elements.

This is the recycled bathroom with classic newspaper as the backdrop and all pieces collected from antique stores and savage yards.

Obviously romantic, but how unique is the shelving in a BATHROOM no less. I can only imagine my book collection (Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings…nerd) all easily accessible as I soak. AND it matches the tub!

Who doesn’t love curlicues? This is the Manor Gate wallpaper by Layla Grayce which is echoed in the curling inset and shape of the vanity.

This is creative chaos, like a dinosaur clawed through the wall but left only cool mirror and tile patterns in its wake.

And last but not least, this is one of the coolest things ever: a living wall. Talk about adding some greenery to your zen-inspired bath. This wall has an integrated drip irrigation system which recycles water and a row of grow lights along the ceiling and requires only occasional pruning.
I hope these funky backdrops gave you the creative feels.
Until next time.
Stay saucy.
