As Wiz Khalifa says: “Uh huh, you know what it is/ Black and yellow/ Black and yellow/ Black and yellow/ Black and yellow/ Yeah uh huh, you know what it is/ Black and yellow/ Black and yellow/ Black and yellow/ Black and yellow” Now I don’t really know what this means, but the guy is excited about black and yellow, me too Wiz, me too (+ white).
You may recall the Black and White Style post. As promised, I wanted to explore accenting B/W with another color. Without further ado, let the series commence! Today, I hope to bring elation to your belly butterflies over Black, White and Yellow:
Accessorize:
Accessories are the best way to feel out a color in your space. Maybe you have always wanted to try yellow, but you don’t want to fully commit. Pillows and bedspreads can easily be stored away depending on the season and your mood (…and storage space, Amiright NYC) for an ever-changing look.

Remember, textures are very important and often overlooked in styling a room. The yellow velvet pillow against the black leather, the mirrored lamp and the patterned wall collaborate to create this luxe look. For those of you who are interested, the wall is from Nabucco Wallcoverings: Sussex Black and White.
Space
I bet you never realized what a sexy side yellow had until this bedroom. The sheer curtains, the black chandeliers above the bedside tables, the mirrored vanity and the unique crocodile armchair collude for a dazzling look.
space
If you are into black+white, yellow can be the perfect punch and this family room proves it. Just the pop of color adds a whole new feel to this open space.

Patterns:
Incorporate yellow in your life with a killer pattern. Patterns can serve as an excellent focal piece in a room, driving your entire color scheme. Notice how every color in this space can be traced back to the chairs.

Get a load of this headboard, not only for the pattern but for the unique shape…..I mean….seriously.

This home office is one of my favorite examples of the B/W + yellow trifecta. If you ain’t scerrred, paint your walls black for maximum impact. This is Benjamin Moore’s Jet Black 2120-10 paint. The pattern upholstered on the desk chair pulls in everything, including the patterned wardrobe and pillows. BOOYAHH!
space
I’d say technically this is gold, but I had to include it. The patterned pillows are all only two colors which ensures there will be no clashing. Check out that sunburst mirror.

Super mod, but very cool. I am digging the Warhol-style painting. Though, I hope that is not the home owner, because that could be a pretty vain move… just sayin’
space
This room feels so clean and fresh. Usually, we think of pulling in bright yellows for a cheerful ambiance, but this crisp look can also be achieved with mustard hues. Fun and affordable tip: this is the Stockholm rug from Ikea.

Ah, the adorable dog wallpaper with a real dog looking on. Swoon. This wallpaper is called Best in Show by Osborne & Little.

A nursery is the prefect room to try your hand at all those unshakable design ideas you want to try but you can no longer suppress. Babies cannot judge you.

The Wall:
Go all out, paint your walls yellow and accessorize in black and white. This wall is Blue Mountain BC1582135.

Fancy entrance, hmm yesss… but the yellow totally works with the classic black and white tile.
space
I love the outcrop focal wall painted yellow especially when enclosing the black tile backdrop and white cabinetry. Nailed it!

And now for the feature image. This, this right here, is why we honor things such as B/W + yellow.
I hope this brings a little inspiration to your day. Be on the lookout for more B/W + [color] posts on the horizon.
Stay saucy,
Jenn
Love it!
